Please review this checklist before your in-house tuning appointment. Vehicles that arrive with mechanical, electrical, fuel system, or communication issues may need to be rescheduled.
ENGINE / MECHANICAL
- No active oil, coolant, or fuel leaks
- Cooling system works properly and vehicle does not overheat
- Engine has no strange noises, misfires, or known mechanical issues
- Spark plugs are correct for the combination and properly gapped. Rule of thumb for non-methanol FI is a step colder for every 150 HP over factory. For nitrous, a step colder for every 100HP
- All vacuum and boost lines are connected and leak-free
- PCV system is routed correctly with no vacuum leaks (this is a common one)
- Throttle body and intake piping are secure
- Intercooler piping and clamps are tight on boosted vehicles
EXHAUST / O2
- No exhaust leaks before or near the O2 sensors
- All exhaust manifold/header bolts are installed and tight
- Wideband O2 is installed correctly if required
- Wideband sensor is exposed to proper exhaust flow and provides a believable reading
FUEL SYSTEM
- Fuel system is complete and sized for the intended power level, call us or use the many available calculators online to determine this
- Fuel pressure is stable under load
- Reputable injectors with correctly formatted injector data for the engine management system being used
- Flex-fuel sensor works properly if equipped
- Vehicle arrives with the fuel you actually intend to tune on
- Bring enough fuel for the entire tuning session — do not arrive near empty
ELECTRICAL / ECU
- Battery is healthy and fully charged
- Alternator/charging system operates normally
- Engine and chassis grounds are clean, tight, and properly located
- ECU and TCM communicate normally
- No unresolved CAN-bus or module communication faults
- Required ECU/TCM unlocks or programming have already been completed (we can do the unlock, but adds to the total time of the tuning process)
DRIVETRAIN / SAFETY
- Transmission operates normally and does not leak
- Driveshaft, U-joints, axles, and differential are in safe condition
- Wheels and lug nuts are properly tightened
- Tires are in safe condition and properly inflated
- No severely worn suspension or steering components
- Vehicle has adequate ground clearance for the dyno
- No loose parts underneath the vehicle
Truck Owners
Before your dyno appointment, make sure the truck arrives reasonably clean, especially around the wheels and tires. Heavy mud, packed dirt, or debris can create a safety concern once the vehicle is under load and can also make a significant mess in the dyno area. Trucks that arrive excessively dirty may need to be cleaned before testing.
Please also verify the overall width at the drive wheels. Our dyno can accommodate a maximum outside-to-outside tire width of 90 inches. Trucks with wide-offset wheels, spacers, or other setups that push the tires beyond that limit will not fit on the dyno
BOOSTED / POWER ADDER VEHICLES
- Wastegate and boost-control plumbing is complete
- Blow-off valve operates correctly
- Boost controller is installed and functioning
- Intercooler system is complete
- Nitrous should remain disabled unless it is specifically part of the tuning session
- Any methanol injection system must be fully functional if the tune depends on it
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
- All modifications must be completed
- Do not make major hardware changes after booking without notifying us
- Bring any information we may need about injectors, fuel pumps, camshaft, turbo/supercharger, sensors, transmission, and ECU/TCM
- If the vehicle has a known issue, tell us before the appointment
IMPORTANT
A tuning appointment is not a diagnostic or repair appointment.
If the vehicle cannot be tuned because of a mechanical, electrical, fuel-system, wiring, communication, or safety issue, the session may be stopped and the vehicle may need to be rescheduled.
Your $100 booking deposit reserves your appointment time and may be non-refundable if the vehicle arrives unprepared for tuning.
